As of April 15, 2024, Shanghai MicroPort AG百家乐 (Group) Co., Ltd. (referred to as MicroPort® AG百家乐®), a holding subsidiary of MicroPort NaviBot(Suzhou) Co., Ltd, developed the SkyWalker® Orthopedic Surgical Robot (referred to as SkyWalker® Robot) has surpassed a cumulative total of 1100 TKA surgeries globally, with clinical applications covering orthopedics, joint surgery, and sports medicine departments in nearly 70 hospitals domestically and internationally. Among them, more than ten medical institutions in the United States and Europe have completed several hundred TKA surgeries. This indicates that the clinical application of the SkyWalker® Robot is becoming more mature, becoming a model for the global sales and clinical application globalization of domestic surgical robots.

Addressing Traditional Surgical Pain Points
SkyWalker® Makes Joint Replacement More Precise and Minimally Invasive

As the current "first and only" domestically produced surgical robot approved for listing in China, the United States, Europe, Brazil, and Australia, the SkyWalker® Robot is equipped with the only high-precision lightweight medical mechanical arm in China. It features intelligent preoperative planning, personalized prosthesis implantation program, accurate preoperative and intraoperative registration and fusion, real time accuracy compensation of manipulator, force line correction of lower limbs, CHN three layers of safety protection system, and reduced dependence of surgical operations on physician experience. It is used to assist in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Based on AI technology, the SkyWalker® Robot significantly reduces the dependence of surgical operations on physician experience through precise registration fusion before and during surgery, improving surgical accuracy and safety. Preoperatively, its planning system can assist doctors in formulating personalized implantation plans based on preoperative CT scan data and implant model data. Intraoperatively, it achieves precise positioning through self-developed registration navigation technology, rapidly completes bone cutting based on surgical planning, enhances surgical precision and efficiency, and achieves visualization, safety, and minimally invasive procedures for high-difficulty surgeries.

The SkyWalker® Robot's innovative all-in-one cutting guide facilitates more efficient bone cutting, aligning with physicians' operating habits. It can also monitor patient positioning in real time, adjust surgical instruments, reduce joint replacement angle errors to 0.2°, shorten surgery time by approximately half, and reduce blood loss by over 30%.

With these advantages, the SkyWalker® Robot assists clinical experts in continuously challenging high-difficulty procedures, completing numerous first-ever and high-difficulty robot-assisted surgeries, demonstrating high clinical application value.

Significant Sales Growth
SkyWalker® Accelerates Global Clinical Application

As early as November 2022, the SkyWalker® Robot had successfully completed dozens of clinical TKA surgeries in multiple U.S. hospitals, including Lighthouse Surgical Hospital in Hollis, New Hampshire. Since 2023, with more overseas orders delivered, the SkyWalker® Robot has further expanded its clinical applications in developed medical countries such as the United States, Germany, Italy, and Belgium, including several top-tier hospitals such as Massachusetts General Hospital, the top-ranked research hospital in the United States, and Larissa University General Hospital in Greece.

This marks the first time that a domestically developed surgical robot has achieved "reverse output" to developed countries such as Europe and the United States, with far-reaching implications for the internationalization of the domestic surgical robot industry.

Foreign experts have expressed that the SkyWalker® Robot has strong operability and adaptability, with a simple system installation process, smooth intraoperative operations, fast operation efficiency, reduced dependence on physician experience, decreased patient injuries, and accelerated patient recovery. Clinical data shows that the SkyWalker® Robot's accuracy in lower limb alignment, surgery time, blood loss, and postoperative knee joint clinical functional assessment are at an internationally leading level. It can be said that the SkyWalker® Robot provides surgical doctors with minimally invasive, precise, and safe intelligent surgical assistance, bringing better medical services to local patients.

Mr. Yu Liu, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of the MicroPort® AG百家乐® stated:
The SkyWalker® Robot has successfully landed in many hospitals in China, the United States, and Europe, completing over 1100 clinical surgeries globally, proving that domestic high-end medical equipment has the strength to move towards a higher-end global value chain. The SkyWalker® Robot has a domestically developed mechanical arm and operating system, with domestically produced components reaching 97%, indicating that only by truly mastering core technologies can long-term development be achieved. We will conduct more cutting-edge digital orthopedic technology research around surgical robots, promote the integration of cutting-edge technology with surgical robots, drive innovation in domestic surgical robot technology, and lead industry transformation.
